
Business Ecosystem
TALENT SUMMARY
These are C and D level business strategy advisory and modeling roles. You will work directly with the CEO and/or the strategic planing team. Depending on the seniority of the position, you will either lead or be a member of the Business Ecosystem Mathematical Modeling (BEMM) team. As a a BEMM member, you will focus on the dynamics of the ecosystem in which the business participates, as opposed to the internal workings of the business itself, which is the province of the Business Behavior Mathematical Modeling Team.
You will lead and/or actively participate in the entire lifecycle of high fidelity business ecosystem mathematical models (BEMMs). You will draw model inputs from a variety of sources, including market research, the company's collective understanding of its business ecosystem (BE), proposed/decreed business strategies as well as corporate objectives, goals, constraints, and assumptions.
You will collaborate with business architecture and business analysis as well as the Data & Analytics group, the Generic Risk Modeling Team, and the Technology Team to produce Business Ecosystem Mathematical Models that will drive the business operating model, informing both business architecture and the Business Behavior Mathematical Modeling Team.

You should be able to present your insights for positioning the business in its ecosystem to the BE modeling team and be able to present the BE team's insights to executive management when called upon to do so. You will need to be able to dive comfortably into the technical weeds when appropriate.
You should be able to articulate the pros and cons of your arguments in terms executives both understand and care about. You should also be able to explain the rationale behind your recommendations in clear, concise business terms backed by sound mathematical reasoning.

WHAT YOU’LL DO:

lead and/or contribute to the entire BEMM life cycle from ideation to deployment

research products and approaches towards developing new and/or improved BEM models
-
present and publish findings, insights, and proposed actions to both technical and executive audiences
-
lead and/or contribute to establishing, promoting, and continuously improving a BEMM practice within the company

WHAT YOU’LL NEED
-
2 - 10 years academic and/or commercial mathematical modeling experience
-
2 - 10 years academic and/or commercial business ecosystem modeling experience
-
2 - 10 years proven ability working and producing results in a diverse, virtual team setting
-
excellent command of the English language, both written and oral
-
proven ability to present findings and rationale to both technical and executive audiences
-
excellent business social skills
-
recent degree/credentials in mathematical modeling or similar discipline
WHAT GIVE YOU AN EDGE
-
experience across the mathematical modeling spectrum, ie. analytical, numerical, etc.
-
insurance/reinsurance domain knowledge, preferably P&C and/or L&H
-
perennial student of business ecosystem modeling and supporting tools
-
perennial student of mathematical modeling and supporting tools
-
first mover/fast follower of the latest advances in BEMM technology
